Weekend yoga retreat 4-6th Oct 2024 in rural Kent
Rest, Reconnect, Rebalance: Weekend Yoga & Meditation Retreat
Oct 4-6th 2024 FULLY BOOKED
With experienced teachers Helen Bishop and Jessica Livingstone of wellbeingyoga.co.uk
Building on the success of last year and utilising - between us - 30 years of experience, we will offer you the chance to downshift, rebalance and reconnect again.
You will be guided through a range of yogic practices, some more active, others very relaxed and inwardly focussed, combined with a mixture of guided meditations, restorative and mindfulness tools and breathing practises.
The aim is for you to return home refreshed, revived and feeling more connected with your true self (suitable for all levels).
The Setting
Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, Bore Place is a 500-acre “regeneratively managed” historic estate in North Kent- their ethos is all about how they can help people and nature work together. A registered charity, they offer organic farming and work tirelessly with people and the community "to live happy, fulfilling, sustainable lives”. Bore Place offers educational programmes for schools and young people, group retreats, marked trails to explore the estate and a programme of events. There is a world of wildlife and nature on the estate, as such they are committed to finding ways to improve biodiversity.
Sustainability is at the heart of Bore Place so their water is recycled, plus they generate more than 50% of their own energy; with the estate managed specifically to encourage wildlife.
There are beautiful gardens to explore and enjoy. A reflective pond is a stand out feature. You can stargaze, explore or warm up around a cosy fire.
Guests also get to experience wildlife walks - gentle circular routes revealing the secrets of a landscape that’s been worked for 1,000+ years. Equally, it’s an ideal place to hire bicycles and cycle around the glorious Wealden Kent countryside. Farm Gate sells their farm produce: organic veg, award-winning cheeses, kefir, yoghurt, honey and organic ice creams. Plus they offer the chance to see their cows being milked; or indeed milk
one yourself!
So you will get to escape for a weekend, immerse yourself in this countryside, in comfortable and
warm accommodation in a place that adopts an environmentally-friendly approach.
Accommodation
We’ve hired: 1) their historic Bore Place House and 2) their Cottages plus 3) their Large Barn for the yoga. The accommodation is comfortable, distinctive, character full and warm with views out
over the gardens.
90% of the rooms are twins, with 5 shared bathrooms (all bathrooms newly renovated Jan 2024).
We are also offering 4 singles in 2 separate cottages - these are rooms with a double-bed in each and en-suites - they have their own separate kitchen, outdoor terrace and more.
The food
The food is key on retreats as such we are bringing in a highly recommended local chef and working with her to develop a nutritious and desirable menu using fresh, local and organic ingredients. The food is non vegetarian with vegetarian options (as well as options for dietary
requirements) - it will be hearty, healthy and nutritious.
